Literacy Enrichment
Students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade attend Literacy Enrichment for one nine-week session each school year. This 45-minute class is designed to extend and strengthen the literacy skills taught in the classroom. Mrs. Wynne collaborates closely with classroom teachers to ensure that instruction supports and reinforces Louisiana state standards.
Literacy Enrichment uses a project-based learning approach that encourages collaboration, creativity, and deeper understanding. Students explore reading concepts such as character traits and development, story elements, comprehension strategies, and word study skills. Through student-led projects, posters, presentations, and readers’ theater performances, students demonstrate their understanding while also strengthening their speaking and listening skills.
This class provides students with meaningful opportunities to engage with literacy in creative ways, helping bring reading and language skills to life.
